ERCOT 4CP Seasonal Review

The 2023 ERCOT 4CP Season, which ended on the last day of September, witnessed ERCOT demands rising sharply and eclipsing 80,000 MWs in all months for the first time ever.

On Thursday, August 10th, ERCOT system demand reached over 85,000 reaching 85,636 MWs to set a new all time record for energy demands in the ERCOT system. The system broke and rebroke records for demand multiple times in each month as triple digit heat lasted for several weeks.

2023 4CP Days:

  • Tuesday, June 27: 81,017 MWs at 5:00 PM CT
  • Monday, July 31: 83,032 MWs at 5:00 PM CT
  • Thursday, August 10: 85,636 MWs at 5:00 PM CT
  • Friday, September 8: 84,540 MWs at 4:45 PM CT
