What you’ll do:

As an Energy Advisor professional with Tradition Energy, you’ll develop relationships with energy decision makers at some of the most important organizations in the world.   • 2+ years as an Energy Advisor/Sales person within Energy desirable

Client Services Associate – Stamford, CT

A position as a Client Service Associate is the perfect entry point into the energy industry and Tradition Energy. In this role you will gain the fundamental understanding of the energy advisory world which will allow you to be mobile within the organization and set your energy career off on the right path.

What you’ll do:

The Client Services Team handles all post-contract execution matters including:

  • Liaison between Energy Advisors and Energy Suppliers to facilitate the resolution of general client service issues, billing issues and tax exemption issues on behalf of Tradition Energy clients
  • Contact local utilities on behalf of Tradition Energy clients to help resolves issues with or obtain information from the local utility
  • Manage the upload of client invoices, contracts, and Tradition Energy market research into Tradition Energy’s propriety software platform
  • Ensure that Suppliers begin serving Tradition Energy Clients on time by providing the clients Enrollment Verification Services
  • Perform Contract Modifications (adds/deletes) on Tradition Energy client’s behalf

 Who you are:

  • 1-3 years of experience within energy or other related industry preferred but not required
  • Bachelor’s Degree – preferably with a Business related focus
  • Internships within Energy or Finance desirable but not required
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Friendly, outgoing and patient, strong communicator with high emotional intelligence

Research Associate – Stamford, CT

The Research Team at Tradition Energy is a highly visible, critical part of our success. In this role, you will be responsible for providing important information and research about the Energy Markets internally as well as externally to our clients. This is an incredible growth opportunity to be in a fast-paced environment and become entrenched in the Energy and Utilities markets. If you are someone who loves to investigate markets, stay abreast of industry trends, topics and changes, is skilled at written communication, and enjoys making presentations internally and externally, we want to hear from you.

 What you’ll do:

  • Write daily energy market commentary and produce ad-hoc reports on power, natural gas, and utilities.
  • Conduct a variety of commodity pricing forecasts used in the firm’s annual market forecast reports.
  • Assist Tradition’s retail energy advisors and wholesale brokers with market due diligence, purchasing strategies, and legislative developments.
  • Coauthor the firm’s annual North American and monthly European energy market reports.
  • Research regulatory developments in the power and utilities sector and author Tradition’s monthly Rate Case Newsletter
  • Communicate directly with News/Media outlets on an as-needed basis
  • Ability to chart and manipulate data using Microsoft Excel.

Who you are:

  • 1-5 years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience in Research or Journalism preferred
  • Experience in Electricity and/or Natural Gas markets
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg Terminal desired but not required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite including Word, PowerPoint, Publisher and Excel (Visual Basic skills a plus)

What you’ll do:

  • Collaborate with Energy Advisors in managing client relationships opposite top Tradition Energy clients, including Fortune 500 corporations and municipalities.
  • Maintain wholesale power and gas price analytics to track market movement and identify execution opportunities for clients.
  • Provide insight regarding energy and utility market developments across active deregulated power and gas markets in Europe and North America.
  • Evaluate, track, and back-test movements in components of retail energy supply rates to inform product recommendations to clients
  • Analyze energy consumption patterns and structure products to best meet the client’s budgetary goals
  • Develop advanced energy solutions for clients including: demand-side management, sustainable energy projects, demand response, emissions-related products, and financial instruments to hedge energy consumption in regulated markets

Who you are:

  • Knowledge of retail energy market dynamics including rules and requirements desirable.
  • Knowledge of wholesale energy market drivers, recent trends, and outlook desirable.
  • Exceptional communication skills – verbal and written
