Tradition Energy & OMNIA Partners Help Milwaukee Public Schools Save $3.5 million

Stamford, Connecticut, February 27, 2023 – Tradition Energy, the nation’s largest independent energy procurement and sustainability solutions advisor, recently helped Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS) eliminate long-term price volatility and reduce costs by $3.5 million.

MPS saved valuable time and expense by utilizing its OMNIA Partners cooperative purchasing agreement to access Tradition’s services. Since 2013, Tradition has been the exclusive Energy Consulting and Management Supplier to OMNIA Partners participants.

In addition to helping MPS stabilize its budget in a volatile, rising cost environment, Tradition evaluated hedging scenarios that drastically reduced the District’s future costs by millions of dollars.

“MPS joins the City of Green Bay and other Wisconsin local governments that are benefitting from Tradition’s natural gas procurement experience,” said Alan Kurzer, CEO of Tradition Energy. “Nothing gives us more satisfaction than supporting our public schools and student education.”

Tradition’s vast experience managing energy for more than 600 local government & non-profit organizations, totaling 22.8 billion kilowatt hours and $25.5 billion in energy spend, will continue to benefit MPS as future cost reduction opportunities are identified.
