Tradition Energy Featured Workshop Speaker At ASBO MD/DC Spring Conference

School Business Officials Learn New Ways To Reduce Energy Costs

Boston, MA – May 27, 2015  —  Last week, Tradition Energy was a featured workshop presenter at the Association of School Business Officials of Maryland and District of Columbia 63rd Annual Spring Conference held in Ocean City, Maryland.

The exclusive event, open only to ASBO MD/DC members, was themed “Preparing Tomorrow’s Leaders Today,”  and provided members with 47 professional education sessions covering a broad range of topics, such as IT, safety and risk management, HR, facilities, admin/fiscal, and energy purchasing, as well as numerous networking opportunities.

U.S. Communities, the leading national cooperative purchasing program for K-12 school districts, also exhibited and spoke at the conference.  The conference provided a great opportunity for the three organizations to network together to exploit the obvious synergies between them given that schools in the ASBO MD/DC Association are also members of U.S. Communities and Tradition Energy is the exclusive Energy Consulting and Management Supplier to their members.

Michael English, Energy Advisor, Tradition Energy, presented to an enthusiastic audience about a variety of alternative strategies to reduce energy costs that go beyond basic energy procurement.  The presentation, “6 Ways To Reduce Energy Costs After You Sign An Energy Contract,” generated a lot of interest and discussion among the attendees.  Not surprisingly, many of the strategies discussed were new to the group, which highlighted the importance for school business officials to continue researching and evaluating new ways to lower energy costs.
