Region One Education Service Center Awards Procurement RFP To Tradition Energy

New Contract Will Benefit “Texas Energy Center” Cooperative Program Members

Stamford, Connecticut, May 26, 2021 – Tradition Energy announces it was recently awarded an Energy Aggregation and Consulting Services contract through a competitive process conducted by Region One Education Service Center (Region One), Edinburg, Texas.

Region One serves South Texas educators and students who make up 38 school districts and 10 charter schools. Region One is the administrator for the Texas Energy Center (TEC), an interlocal purchasing cooperative that has provided energy services to its Members since 2002.

Tradition Energy will advise the TEC on its ongoing program that offers Members participation in electricity and natural gas procurement and aggregation opportunities.  The new contract scope involves analyzing energy load data, administering a Request for Proposals process for Retail Energy Provider (REPs) selection, leading negotiations with REPs, and providing ongoing management, monitoring, and educational services on behalf of the TEC and its Members. Demand Response, on-site energy generation, renewable energy, and power factor penalty correction services will be also be evaluated for Members.
