Addison Armstrong Speaks On M&A Trends And Opportunities In The Marcellus and Utica Regions

Stamford, CT – September 18, 2013  —  Last week, Addison Armstrong, Sr. Director of Market Research at Tradition Energy, participated on a panel at the Association for Corporate Growth’s 2013 Great Lakes Capital Connection Conference, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The annual conference, which is a collaborative effort of seven ACG Chapters from the Midwest & Mid-Atlantic regions, drew over 900 attendees.

The panel, titled “M&A Trends and Opportunities in the Marcellus & Utica,” was organized by Buchannan, Ingersol and Rooney, a leading Pittsburgh law firm.  The group’s discussion focused on the connection between investment activity and supply and demand trends as they relate to the enormous shale gas formations in the region.

Other issues discussed included the potential growth of the regional petro-chemical industry and the impact of LNG exports on regional gas prices. “One of the most influential factors driving M&A activity will continue to be the forward price curves for regional natural gas prices,” commented Mr. Armstrong.

In addition to Mr. Armstrong, other panelists included:

  • James Balaschak, Principal, Deloitte US Energy & Resources
  • Sylva Barnes, Head of Oil & Gas Investment and Corporate Banking, KeyBanc Capital Markets
  • Matt Coleman, VP – Corporate Banking Group, Wells Fargo Energy Group
  • David Hackworth, Director of Joint Ventures, CONSOL Energy Inc.
  • Sean Moran, Co-Chair – Energy Section, Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC
